Dear Howard,
Recently, a friend of mine gave me her red with plaid lining, above the
knee, Thermal-Slicks by MTC coat which she had purchased in Comox,
Vancouver Island, BC while living there a few years ago. Were it not for
the fact that she has shed some weight during the last year she would
not have done so. Good for her/lucky for me!
Having grown up in northern Ontario, I've had my share of quality, well
made coats during the past 62 years. My mother bought the best quality
available to her, in the north and in Toronto, and taught me what to
look for.
Today, in North Bay, Ontario, it was cold/rainy/windy and necessary that
I go about my errands so, I gave Sharon's coat a 'test run'.
It is important to me to convey to you, immediately, my highest praise!
The style/cut of the collar and hood interact at the junction of the top
of the zipper/dome fastener/hood to minimize cold, rainy, air getting
in while hood is popped up/flipped back frequently in going from
outdoors to indoors.
The smoothness of the zipper, weighted pulls for anatomically angled
pockets, generous allowance through the yoke, hood buttons with clear
button supports, hook loop and fabric generosity in the madras, cotton,
lining of body (sleeves lined in nylon for easy slide) all contribute to
a finely made, efficient to use product.
The covered button at the top
is a darling touch, too. Women appreciate the details!
Sharon let me know me that it can be a bit too warm at times but today
it was 100% needed!
Please convey my compliments to your design department.
There are two things I will take this opportunity to mention for
potential development of your design.
1) a two-way zipper
2) finished inside cuffs so that people with a bit shorter arms, such as
mine, could turn up the cuffs with a more finished appearance (as found
on the L.L Bean barn coat).
The way the cuffs are finished work/look alright turned up, though, with
3/8ths inch of the coat's exterior and a perfectly matched red lining
bordering the plaid!
Many thanks for all you've done, collectively, to produce such a great
rainy/windy day coat!
It is an classic example of fashion and function. Kudos!

Greenville Maine. Went back and they do not carry them anymore. Where

My wife has been wearing( and has worn out) The Original Foul Weather
Comfort ..THERMAL-SLICKS...by MTC. She has looked everywhere locally for
a replacement but to no avail, including the store she bought her
original coat from.
Hers is yellow with a navy polyester lining throughout size 14-16. It
has an attached hood, also lined, with two zippered pockets on the
front. She has had it patched so many times it looks like a quilt
Can you tell me where I can find her a replacement coat or two? We live
in Surrey B.C.. If there is a local outlet please let me know or can we
buy over the web??

To whom it may concern,
I live in New Glasgow Nova Scotia. I came across one of your Thermal
Slicks raincoats, and really think they are a terrific style coat for
our damp rainy weather. Unfortunately, none my size in that store. So
here I am, hopefully following procedure to obtain one.
The style # is 2400. My preference in color would be either black (plaid
inside) or red (plaid inside)

and, sadly, it needs to be replaced.

I have checked Mark’s Work Wearhouse but have never seen your raincoats
there.

I have been looking for your Thermal-Slicks brand rainwear in my area and also on the internet. I had
purchased a Thermal-Slick jacket some years ago but can not find them
here anymore. I have tried other rainwear for this time of year but
nothing compares to the thermal lined pvc of the Thermal Slick. I had
hoped you might be able to assist me in finding a Mens size M-rg, in a

Hi - My wife is pretty upset that our puppy tore her very favorite raincoat in a moment of exuberance while walking with her.
I believe that it's a 212C in pink. Do you have any retailers here in Connecticut, Massachusetts or Rhode Island?
Otherwise, I think the puppy isn't going to get her morning run through the fields on damp mornings....and that would be a problem because she then heads to work with me far too full of energy!
